Naridixis
Naridixis is a habitable arid world, notable for being the homeworld of the Basidrix and the capital of the Basidrix Cyber Ecclesia. The planet is the third satellite of the Basolux System, and has one orbiting moon of its own. The planet's hydrosphere is concentrated in a number of large 'inland' seas, most of which are disconnected from each other. The coastal regions of these seas, particularly in the polar regions, are lush with vegetation. Vegetation becomes increasingly sparse the deeper into the interior one travels, and the deepest regions are entirely desert with virtually no signs of life. Most Basidrix cities are located along the coastlines and islands of the inland seas, and traditionally traded by sea. In the post-interstellar boom, the sea trade has largely been replaced with offworld travel, but a thriving seagoing sector still exists on Naridixis.
The capital of the planet is home to the main government administration, as well as the the towering United Sanctum of Augmentation, a massive temple complex dedicated to the faith of the United Creeds. The United Sanctum is open to all visitors at all times of day, utilising holograms and energy fields to enhance the faithful's experience, and thousands of haruspexes to tend to their augmentations. Thanks to the expertise of the haruspexes, Naridixis' cybernetic augmentations are considered to be among the best in the galaxy, bringing millions of visitors each year to be augmented. Although the United Creeds officially shuns the practice of offering augmentations to the non-faithful, the practice is overlooked due to the substantial revenue and technical knowledge it brings in.
Despite the formation of the United Creeds as a single religion to unite the disparate faiths of Naridixis after unification, the four old creeds continue to exist, albeit diminished. The Ecclesiastical government utilises their expertise in various fields, allowing them to continue operating as semi-independent institutions so long as they contribute to the United Creeds as a whole.
The Amphitheater of the Mind, located on an island in the middle of the largest inland sea, is the home of the Choir of the Mind. It acts as the planet's primary hub for the Choir's unique mind-linking technology, allowing members to act like a quasi-hive mind. With their ability to instantly share thoughts, the Choir of the Mind is responsible for coordinating much of the planet's research and development operations.
The Sanctuary of Toil is located deep in the southern plains, a hub for the common workers who labour in the farms and mines that surround it. Overseen by the Commune of Toil, the Sanctuary provides, as its name suggests, a place for workers to rest and rejuventate, while members of the Commune tend to their augmentations and spiritually guide them. A secondary role of the Sanctuary of Toil is to coordinate resource extraction operations around the world, ensuring food, raw materials, and energy get where they need to go in a timely manner.
The Forge of the Fellowship is the beating heart of the largest city on Naridixis, producing massive amounts of finished goods each day. Visitors to the temple have described it as less of a religious site and more of a gigantic factory complex, though the Fellowship of the Hammer argue those are not mutually exclusive. Many raw materials extracted from the mines across Naridixis and the Basolux System find their way to the Forge, and are manufactured into starship parts, consumer goods, and construction materials.
Though the Templars of Steel were replaced by the Ecclesiastical Guard as the state military, the Battlements of Steel continue to stand as the most powerful fortress on Naridixis. Its sensors and weapons are manned by a joint force of Templars and Guardsmen, ready to protect their homeworld from any threat. The Battlements, although ancient, have received constant upgrades and enhancements over the years, keeping them competitive with the latest generations of strongholds and fortresses.
