Drakamakki
Summary
Drakamakki is an ancient worldview believed by early inhabitants of Milios. It focuses on the physical world and the patterns therewithin, observed by those who sought to understand the vast and inspiring cosmos above their heads and beneath their feet. The Pantheon of Drakamakki is a family of siblings, Titans called The Nine. Of these Nine there are The Illuminated, who represent and embody the Head of the World, The Blooded, who represent and embody the Heart of the World, and The Hollowed, who represent and embody the Stomach of the World. During the time when people still believed in Drakamakki, the Titans were likely revered and respected more-so than worshipped.
Cosmology
Long ago the world was in no place, at no time. It had neither law nor rule, function nor purpose. From this Silent Void seeped a screaming and endless Mass that writhed in torment. For this Writhing Mass was all matter, knowledge, and space, and it lashed out at the Silent Void that surrounded it, though the Void could not contain its fury.
Within the Writhing Mass, after a thousand ages had passed, three Siblings began to draw into themselves the chaos near to them, folding it into a new structure, set apart from the Writhing Mass. As they continued to break and bend the Writhing Mass into themselves, the Void began to relax its grip upon the whole, allowing the three Siblings to move more freely. Therefore, these three became the Primordial Titans and they wandered the Mass of all things, taking from it the parts which they found beautiful.
One of the Primordial Titans looked upon the Writhing Mass and saw emanating from it an immense fire, which they drew into themselves, taking the name Shiroka, for this meant "Radiant." Therefore, Shiroka was the first to expand themselves, as they shone out into the Silent Void, bringing heat and light into the world.
The next Primordial looked upon the Writhing Mass and saw within it an endless desert, which they drew into themselves. It took the name Kaelostra, which meant "Evermore." Kaelostra, with a mighty breath, exhaled out a billion-billion grains of sand, filling the Silent Void with matter and dimension.
When the last of the Primordials looked into the Writhing Mass, they began to search for what would be the most beneficial to themself. They then came upon a place within the Mass that was unlike the rest, for it was unclear and could not be perceived. So the third Primordial Titan reached in and drew the empty blackness from the Mass into themselves. It took the name Xhivenai meaning "Shadow." Xhivenai therefore became all that the other Primordials could not see and filled in all the cracks and crevices left untouched by the light of Shiroka or the specks of Kaelostra.
After some time, from the Writhing Mass came three more Titans — Brothers, who eventually met their elder Siblings. These new Titans then began forming the Mass into themselves just as they had seen their elder Siblings do, adding parts which complemented their natures. As the younger Titans scavenged the Mass, Shiroka, Kaelostra, and Xhivenai saw that their younger brothers had taken after themselves, as each Brother became more and more similar to each of the Primordials. So, the Brothers were deemed "Echoes," and the Primordials each approached the Echo with whom they felt closest, to give them names.
To the first, Shiroka gave the name Hilushon, since he had become more endless than the universe itself. To the next, Kaelostra gave the name Piekomin, for he would be able to host a great many upon his back. Then, when Xhivenai had found the last Echo, he was still searching. Xhivenai took pity on him since he had searched for many ages without finding anything beautiful. So Xhivenai told him to go down into the lowest part of the Writhing Mass until he could go no further. Only then would he find the beauty he sought. After some time, when the Echo returned from the Writhing Mass, he had become a grotesque thing with numerous slithering limbs and bulbous eyes. The Echo shouted and screamed at Xhivenai, cursing their name and lashing out with his many limbs — like the Writhing Mass had done long ago. Xhivenai laughed at his plight and gave him the name Lyshender, for he had journeyed into hell and brought a piece of it back with him.
As the Titans became more and more separate from the Mass, which was now placid and much smaller than it was before, the writhing stopped entirely — its glossy surface reflected an image of the Void which also had begun to take shape — light and matter and the shadows between gave it form and dimension. Suddenly, three more were born — Sisters, younger and less formed than even the Echoes had been. But the six elder Titans realized that there was nothing left to take from the Mass without destroying it. So they broke pieces from themselves to add to their newest siblings and thus formed the Sisters out of themselves. Shiroka shared its heat so the Sisters would not be endlessly still, Kaelostra shared its variability so the Sisters would not be forced to remain as they were, and Xhivenai shared its darkness so the Sisters would not be without protection. The Echoes too, though they had less to give, sought to join their Siblings in cooperation. So they too added themselves to the Sisters' forms and brought them to life. Hilushon shared with them a vast expanse so the Sisters would not be hindered, Piekomin shared a solid foundation so the Sisters could cherish their circumstances, and Lyshender shared an endless depth so the Sisters could want for more.
After they had finished, the Primordials and Echoes looked upon their Sisters with kindness and each one recognized an aspect of themselves within them. They moved through the Void with such excitement and force that the other Titans were astonished.
The first Sister danced with speed and grace through the vastness that Hilushon had shared. So she was called Glymira for her boundless joy.
The next Sister laid down upon the foundation given by Piekomin and reached upward to grasp the grains of sand scattered by Kaelostra. So she was called Jurukaal for her contented presence.
Then, the last Sister, still not satisfied, dove into the endless depths Lyshender had provided her. Xhivenai, although they had tricked Lyshender to enter the depths, harbored no ill will for their younger Sister, and thus grabbed onto her so that she would not suffer the same fate as Lyshender. Lyshender, seeing that Xhivenai sought to protect their Sister, saw an opportunity to anger his older sibling, wrapped one of his long limbs around her and pulled her further down into the depths. When the others saw this, they gave her the name Sekoutla, for her bottomless desire.
Therefore the Sisters grew and changed and expanded to become whole. They would eventually don the title of Tethers, since they had been made from their six elder siblings and held them together.
Then the Nine came together among the Silent Void to gaze upon the Writhing Mass. When they looked, they saw that the Void was no longer empty and the Mass had become still and was beautiful — more beautiful than each of themselves individually. While they had been working to build themselves and each other, the Nine had not realized until now that they had created the world.
Shiroka was the Sun, burning with brilliant light into the heavens, giving heat to the expanse.
Kaelostra was the Stars, stretching out over the entirety of the Void, sprinkling grains of life and beauty into the darkness.
Xhivenai was the Moon, always gazing over the darkness, harboring long shadows and deceptive apparitions where the others could not see.
Hilushon was the Sky, surrounding his elder siblings, holding them high up above the Mass.
Piekomin was the Land, and gave his siblings firm ground on which they would walk, build, and commune with each other.
Lyshender was the Sea, cursed by his elder sibling to hide himself beneath the surface, longing to be with his Titan kin.
Glymira was the wind, whirling and dancing throughout Hilushon, propelled by the warmth of Shiroka.
Jurukaal was the mountains, reaching up from Piekomin's back to grasp Kaelostra in the heavens.
And Sekoutla was the Tides, nearly lost, clinging to Piekomin's back, forever pulled back and forth between Xhivenai and Lyshender.
The Pantheon
The Nine Titans are divided into trios on two axes: First by their Generation and second by their Character.
The first generation of Titans birthed from the Writhing Mass were the Primordials. They were born as raw, abstract energy.
The second-born were the Echoes. Three brothers who came from what the Primordials left behind in the Writhing Mass. They watched their elder Siblings and took forms that reflected their characters.
The third-born and final Titans were three sisters called the Tethers. The Tethers were born without bodies and were given form when the others took pieces of themselves and gifted them to their younger Sisters. As a result, they each came to embody a character made from both the Primordials and Echoes' natures, becoming in the process a link between them.
As they exist now, The Nine are grouped into and worshiped in three Triads according to their Characters. One of each Primordial, Echo, and Tether have a similar nature to each other.
The First of these triads is The Illuminated– Shiroka the Radiant, Hilushon the Vast, and Glymira the Joyous. They are the Head of the World, characterized by justice, integrity, structure, power, intelligence, might, and glory. They cherish light, knowledge, reason, intellect, order, and the mind.
The Second triad is The Blooded– Kaelostra the Evermore, Piekomin the Long, and Jurukaal the Stalwart. They are the Heart of the World, characterized by their love, kindness, empathy, adaptability, creativity, integrity, and honor. They cherish all things living, creations, mortality, nature, and the wilderness.
The Third triad is The Hollowed– Xhivenai the Shadow, Lyshender the Deep, and Sekoutla the Hungry. They are the Stomach of the World, characterized by their passion, cunning, spontaneity, desire, perseverance, stubbornness, and wrath. They cherish trickery, lust, chaos, schemes, war, and greed.
