Session 1: Introduction

General Summary

Party meets in an inn: a halfling rogue that only tells the party what they may call him...but doesn’t explicitly give his name (he is a professional after all), a jovial human summoner and his, contrastingly, silent glaive wielding companion (not sure what the eidolon is as he is cloaked in plot armor that covers his face), respectively engage and abstain from engaging in polite conversation, a boisterous rather young human paladin entirely too enthusiastic about ALL of the myriad applications of a tower shield burst into the inn with a drink from another inn in hand, and an elf/half-elf? oracle that's tending bar to make ends meet in the current inn converse about a job offer from a local dilettante. Visit Benefactors/quest givers: Saini Alanen (spelling?), Ilari Sainio, and Ulpa Varala who task the party with exploring two tombs north of the city. They pay us 10gp (each) up front, out of the full payment of 100 gp at the end of the job. To recover some information and “settle a bet” (which one of them rudely interrupted the other to bluntly declare this?) based on what we find would settle said bet providing no further clue as to what they were hoping to find, in order to prevent the observers from applying bias. After haggling with the benefactors they be-grudgingly give the party 10 gp, per person (40 gp - not including the eidolon) out of the entire promised 100 gp of the adventure. Upfront, so 60 gp after completing the adventure to get us to agree to going on the adventure with the promise that we would do as we say (damn having a paladin in the party) After asking if they want anything in particular that we find from the locations they say they will want the option of “first bid” on any items we choose to show them, but offer no promise of payment for any artifacts found. The party sets out on an adventure, leaving their donkeys in town as its monsoon season, and we don’t want to lead heavily laden creature into a swamp where they will sink…. On route to the location where the tombs are located we get lost in the woods but the oracle (name) quickly recovers her bearings and gets us back on track, and we eventually reach the valley. During the night we discover the bloated body of a goblin floating down the river, with a sigil on its rotting buckler indicating that it was once a member of the Blood Moon clan. After looting the body we unceremoniously dump it back into the river to carry it away from our camp. In the middle of our camp watch we hear loud croaking, louder than the rest of the frogs in the valley that were croaking earlier. It soon subsides, and we all go back to sleep, uneasily. After prying a large circular stone from the entrance of one of the cairns in the valley, we enter into a tomb heavy with undisturbed layers of dust, murals of a Wujen woman wielding spells of fire and lightning vanquishing her foes are all around us.
