Session 33: War Crimes Report
General Summary
The Rat Pack had just successfully defeated the Scro War Captain and were about to enjoy the spoils of war when a moral quandary presented itself. The group learned that the Scro were not transporting munitions as previously told. In actuality, they were transporting food and medical supplies.
Azid was unmoved by this and pointed out that the elves were providing them crucial information and that the Scro were not doing anything for them. E.L.B.O.W. asked if the priest knew of the "Spear of Three Parts." At first, the space orc was confused, but then he realized they meant the Sphere of Three Parts. He said that he knew of it and that it was a hazardous weapon that should be hidden. This piqued the interest of Azid, which unsettled the prisoner even further.
E.L.B.O.W. and the rest of the party agreed to let the Scro escape with a backpack of supplies. The priest was grateful and moved quickly to flee, but Azid was not about to let him escape. As the priest fled from the warehouse, Azid shot him in the back with a firebolt, killing him. At this point, Captain Glynkas Eagerwhisper arrived and was pleased to see what the group had accomplished. He seemed unbothered by the fact that the munitions were food and medicine.
They discovered a damselfly ship that had been ripped in half by something. They investigated the ship's remains and found a manifest named the spelljammer The Ladyfinger. The crew aimed to check the mine to see if it was worth restarting production.
The group went on to investigate the mine, but the elves were less eager to do so. They returned to their ship while the Rat Pack entered the asteroid.
Inside the mine, they found what should have been a very lucrative gold mine that had been abandoned in a hurry. They were looking into why it had been left when not one but two dragon eels attacked them. The substantial space dragons were deadly and sent Glebnor into a blind rage, attacking E.L.B.O.W. instead of defending themselves from the dragons.
Fortunately, Azid turned Geasle into a giant ape. Geasle, in turn, defeated the dragons.
War Crimes
Stinkbreath dragged the war priest who had surrendered out of the zone of silence. E.L.B.O.W. asked him to explain what was going on. The priest told him that the filthy elf scum was committed to killing the Scro entirely, even though the Unhuman War ended centuries ago. They were peacefully transporting the supplies through town when the elves attacked them.Azid was unmoved by this and pointed out that the elves were providing them crucial information and that the Scro were not doing anything for them. Shopping
Captain Eagerwhisper told them he would submit a report and request to see the Admirals once they returned to Bral. In the meantime, the party decided to do some shopping and crafting of their own. Stinkbreath took the pistol to the Giff to learn more about it. The aliens were happy to tell him about the "magnificent" weapon but were then offended by his preference for a crossbow. In the end, Stinkbreath made an enemy of the Giff and gave the gun to Frillo to keep at the tavern.Meeting with Eagerwhisper
When the party was summoned by Eagerwhisper a few days later, they were quick to respond. The Astral Elf told them that he was pleased to say that the Admirals had accepted his request to bring the group to their secret ship and that a special committee had been formed for the occasion. However, since the location of the Admirals was a secret, the group had to travel on Captain Eagerwhispers' ship, The Silver Skimmer. The Distress Beacon
A week into their flight through Wildspace, The Silver Skimmer detected a distress beacon coming from a nearby asteroid that humans had once used as a gold mine. The Rat Pack was excited about exploring a mine and volunteered to accompany the elves as they investigated. They discovered a damselfly ship that had been ripped in half by something.
