Arisia

Arisia is a frigid country in the south of Cesarica. It is the least populated of the countries on the continent, with the majority of the country being icy tundras. Most of the population lives in the slightly warmer area of the country in the north, near the border with Cesarica, and along the coastline where villages make a living fishing the cold beasts of the icy ocean.   Cesarica has less of a treaty with Arisia and more of a patronage. The Arisian navy is quite strong, but the majority of its protection comes from Cesarica. As a small country with few natural resources and a relatively small population, it does not have much to offer other than obedience. However, it also means that there is not much that other countries would want from it.

Geography

Arisia is mostly tundra, with some icy mountains around. The coastline is mostly frozen ice and is a treacherous maze of icebergs. Lifetimes of navigating between these floes results in very skilled sailors and navigators.

Fauna & Flora

The majority of the landscape of Arisia is a harsh tundra, sparsely populated by caribou, wolves, and scrubby small plants that can survive above the permafrost.   In warmer areas, small evergreen forests can grow, though none are very large or widespread.   Along the coast, penguins, seals, sea lions, and other marine life abounds.

Natural Resources

There are very few natural resources in Arisia, and its small population is a testament to that. While there is limited logging in some areas, and a somewhat profitable fishing economy along the coastlines, until the treaty with Cesarica, Arisians lived a subsistence-based lifestyle, foraging, hunting, and fishing just enough to survive.   Some Arisians have found a profitable career in whaling, and the ivory craftsmen of Arisia are said to be some of the best in the world. However, the majority of Arisia's economy is dependent on Cesarica's exports of food and resources.
