People

People are creatures who have combine a physical, living body with a soul. The physical body is nourished through physical consumption and generates spiritual energy as a by-product. The soul is nourished by this energy. When the physical body dies or if the connection between the two is severed, the soul becomes a purely spiritual creature and is usually drawn to the Spirit Moon unless it manages to find another anchor in the Mixed World. By and large, people are sapient and live in communities. They may be humans as we would recognize them, but can also other species. In any given community, there will be a range of people with different body parts or abilities, but since The Great Forgetting, only specialist researchers organize people by their physical traits; mostly people organize by community, clan, politics, and religion instead.   PCs can use the Society skill for checks involving people.
