Jalon
Jalon is a Temple-taught priest, trained at the seminary in Xarlaca itself. He has the Mark of Dominion, a smoky quartz crystal embedded in his forehead identifying him as blessed by Llauvo, the Rain Father.
His home is in Aldeata, but he makes a regular circuit to the surrounding towns. At each visit, he adjudicates disputes, counsels the troubled, and teaches those who are on the path to wisdom.
His life is orderly and satisfying, full of meaning and purpose. With one exception. A bright and charismatic former student, one whom he had to dismiss because of his freewheeling, shortsighted approach, has recently been elected leader of a nearby village. Now the village has told him to stop visiting them as part of his regular circuit.
