Don Manuel Tierra
Don Manuel, a farmer and town elder, is the head of the Tierre family. The Tierras live in a family compound within the Living Fields themselves rather than in Aldeata proper. They act as the keepers of the relationship between the spirit of the Fields and the townsfolk.
The Tierras treat the spirit of the field as a family member, welcoming it to eat with them each meal, maintaining a room with a bed and a bookshelf for it, and letting it sit through, or sometimes teach, lessons to the youngsters.
Don Manuel himself is particularly beloved of the spirit, and spends most of his time outside in its company. Like Aldeata’s founders, he has a large family, all adopted, some human, and a couple not human.
