The Godrun Union

Born in freedom, live in freedom, die in freedom.

The Godrun Union is a realm of great plains, arid deserts, mineral wealth and freedom. Its legendary founder was devoted to the idea of freedom above all else and strove to form the nation in his image.
While there is a federal government centred in Red Mesa, it is not one that demands service or even unity, more a basic necessity to keep rudimentary order in place.
From the nobles in the towers of Red Mesa to the common folk working the vast mining cities of Limpscar and Copper Gorge, value is placed on independent freedom as well as the acquisition of wealth. Aristocratic Godrons prefer to use money than brute force and appreciate good deals and tolerance.
Some have argued that there is an excessive focus on money, an overzealous accumulation by those within the Stewards of the Delta, however, the majority of the citizenry believe the Stewards accumulate this wealth for the benefit of the Union as a whole.
The Dual Pantheon is worshipped across the Union, with particular focus paid to The Merchant, The Untamed and The Host.
The Union is ruled by Queen Valk, one of a long line of queens and matriarchs as those in high office are frequently female, with males being better appreciated for the more physical tasks. Only among the Stewards of the Delta is this not so ubiquitous.
Valk is a just ruler, advised by her three viceroys, Khik, Toth and Vuttar, representing the military, diplomacy and religion respectively.
Over the years relations with Ozrag to the north have soured, and this has recently bubbled over into all out war, with the orcs descending on Godron territory with speed and brutal efficiency. The Union, thanks to its disparate nature, has been slower to respond, however, money is changing hands, and the nation's mercenary bands are being turned into a makeshift army.

Interesting Things About The Godrun Union

    • Red Mesa is the most civilised of the cities in the Union, with an organised police force and relative peace in the streets. Many of the other cities are far less fortunate, with frontier justice being the norm.
    • The firearms used by many of those within the Union were not originally made there, but instead purchased and then copied with widely used plans being used to encourage a unity of national spirit. The prevalence of guns, however, has undeniable increased the rate of crime throughout the states.
    • Much of the money across continent has crossed paths with the Stewards of the Delta at one point or another, they treat themselves as the continent's bankers and are willing to give loans to those they deem good investments.
