Ruby Mountain
The Ruby Mountain is both the name of a volcano and the small mountain range surrounding it.
The place is named after the Merrani word "Ruby" meaning both blood and the gemstone itself.
Said to be formed after a dragon was defeated by a great warrior and was tossed into the pit of the mountain.
The dragons blood grew the red gemstones and the stomach bultched out the infernal magma causing the volcano to form.
Some of the local shaman say he still lurks beneath the pit of lava, continously bleeding out.
While city folk claim this is more of a fabricated story, where the dragon was thrown into the lava and has no linkage with the dragons blood.
The mountain had a few settlements at its base, with the only main settlement sitting upon the mountain is Jewel which resides within an ancient giant ruin.
The remainder of the mountain side is covered in a few minor villages of those that did not adopt the rule of the Shesire Sovereignty and remain isolated from the rest of the world besides the few trades done with Jewel.
The mountain is rich in ruby deposits, a resource the villagers are willing to trade for supplies from Jewel during times of need. Rubies make up a large proportion of their faith and culture, as well as being frequent jewelry within this region.
