Nihdan
The Nihdian people are an ethnicity group of the Mirran, natives from the country of Nihd, are a fierce culture that lives in the darkness of mighty Dragons. These draconic creatures, feared for their raw destructive potential and revered for their connection to magic and wind. The Nihdians have adapted their entire way of life around them by hunting the scaled beasts, both as a means of survival and for the spoils of the hunt.
The Nihdians live in small, tightly bound clans that are fiercely territorial. Each clan has its own hunting grounds, and its people guard them like shepherds. They use all assortments of weaponry and traps to bring down each and every last dragon to enter their territory, ranging from humble spears and harpoons to talismans crafted by shamans that can weaken and control the beasts.
The Nihdans' dependence on the dragons is both a blessing and a curse. The beasts provide them with meat, leather, and other materials for building and handcrafting, but they also pose a constant threat. With the dragons coming from their spawning nest of Jultren, their forces are endless and not only dangerous when they are being hunted, but they can attack settlements and pillage entire villages.
Despite this perilous threat that looms over them, they are deeply respectful of the dragons, respecting them as a part of the Totems faith but with an emphasis on the draconic spirits. They believe that the dragons are the guardians of the wind and bringers of war and must be hunted with care and reverence or a great war is to follow. Something that they believe they were being punished when the War of the Flying Baron occurred. The dragons are also deeply tied to the Nihdans' spiritual beliefs and play a large role in a multitude of ceremonies and rituals.
The spoils of the fierce hunt are shared among the clan, with the most prized parts of the dragon being given to the clan leader and the brave hunters who brought it down. The Nihdans use the bones and scales of the dragons to create houses, tools, and armour for survival, but also for intricate and beautiful artwork that is highly prized by other cultures.
