The Prison of Failure

Layer 1837 of the Abyss, or The Prison of Failure, is a a layer of the Abyss meant to embody the personal failures of those imprisoned there. A layer mean to torment those that lie there, the Prison of Failure was not comprised of demons or any form of necessarily Abyss derived entities, but rather that of those who had failed to escape and had succumbed to the mental degradation that the layer placed upon them. A layer that recycled the trauma, failures, weaknesses and overall worst moments of someone's life, the Prison of Failure is adept at breaking those who came to arrive at it. Former great heroes, once great generals, fallen religious leaders, and more could arrive at this level after their death only to be tormented by the mistakes of their past until they ultimately would give up and surrender their own souls to the layer, becoming yet one more of the horde that torments new souls here. For it is a place of misery and sadness, of regret and soul shredding torment. It is a place where those who have let those who needed the most down reside, and none have ever escaped its dark, cold, soul suffocating clutches but for one person: A'akaro Yvsa.   The story of the Prison of Failure and its coming into existence has long since been lost to the analls of time, for it is endless and infinite in its existence and age like the Abyss itself. It's recent resident and only escapee in known history though very much has a story of trial, repetition, death, and eventually, acceptance.
