The Other

The Other. That is its only name. An other realm from which Harbinger and his hordes poured from, a realm of darkness, of death, of grief, of pain. Harbinger speaks little of it. He rarely references it, a painful reminder it seems even to a god of his strength. Yet still it exists, be it beyond the comprehension of the mortal mind, or whether it be some unique realm itself. It is of the past for the god of Meria, and it seems to be that it is wished to remain that way. A realm with little knowledge known of it, all that was portrayed regarding it from Harbinger to Shakan and new, Merian converts to his religion and those who bent the knee first was that it was a land of ruin, a land of mistakes, a land that served as an example for all to follow so as to not let it happen again. Connections have been made that the gods of The Other perhaps made grave errors in their greed and excess, sapping the world of life and ultimately killing it. Others have specified about a divine civil war with the material plane caught as an unfortunate but utterly helpless centerpiece. Theories persis, with no confirmed answers.   No one has even been to The Other, at least no one that has done it and lived to tell the tale for whatever reason. It seems to be entirely unaccesible, as no spell seems to be able to transport one to The Other regardless of strength combined with the general magic restrictions on casting upper level spells by random mages not specially licensed and monitored.   And so The Other exists as a strange, mysterious, and somewhat alluring place that has drawn the attention of the Church of Harbinger, The Assembly, and even the very culture and mythos of The Empire itself, a dark place from which their holy and bright god emerged from, to deliver his message to a new world.
