Ghoul
The ghouls are legendary creatures of nightmare. Not many of them have been recorded all throughout history and nobody alive has ever seen one, yet they are accused of most of the disappearances in caves. They are feared in mountain regions, especially in Valeknaar, for their pretended dreadful violence in combat.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Me and four others entered the tunnels to hunt for the creature who devoured our minors. After a few hours, we started hearing weepings. An easy kill then, we thought. All those who were killed by a beast crying this way were clearly not fit for anything other than dig their own graves. We were unsure where the sound was coming from, the walls and galleries reflecting it back and forth at one another. But it was getting closer, we were sure of it. One of our crew started to grow visibly worried, and then, it appeared. We were all shocked at what monster was standing before us. It looked like some kind of troll, or goblin maybe, having the size of one but the thinness of the other. Skin pale as the moons, with only dirt giving it a brownish tint. Its legs were probably too long for it, if I should guess. They were always bent. Its already long feet ended in claws a fourth of their size. Its back as well was bent slightly. Its elongated arms almost reached to its ankles, and the claws with which they ended slowly slided on the ground far behind it. Its head most of all, was terrifying. Its neck was extended in such a way, plunging in the continuity of its back, before reaching up again so that its face would look in front of it. Look. If it could have. It had no eyes, ears, or nose. The only thing on its face was a large mouth from which dripped a liquid that dissolved the floor of rock, and on top of its head were some rare strands of hair. The terror paralyzed us. Even me, I must admit. But we had to react quickly, for in a split second, it was screeching a terrible scream and its claws had already pierced through the chest of our leader.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
According to the first king's tale, the ghouls can sense fear, and this is their only means of perception. The absence of eyes, ears and nose would indicate this is true, though it is unclear if they are able to feel touch or not.
