Rainbow Weeds

Description: Found in the Plains of Arraako this plant can be found in a variety of colors depending on the nearest source of magic, they are able to change colors for a while after harvest. The clans of the plains use these as dyes, when they are used right they are capable of turning the color of the creatures magic. The Tribes have developed ways to combine the Dyes with enchantments to make magical tattoos that convey a variety of effects.   Uses:   The tribes of Arraako use these in their clan tattoos. The Clan tattoos are made using Rainbow weeds that have taken the color of the Clan leaders magic, these tattoo's location varies from person to person but is usually somewhere prominent, like the face or chest.   The tribes also use these in their matrimony rituals, they make entwined bands composed of the leaves that have taken the colors of the magic of the two who are getting married. The entwined bands are then set into an arm band and the band is worn on the upper arm of the dominant arms of the couple. It's considered bad luck to have the entwined bands turn to one color so most couples are very careful to only get Rainbow weeds that have stopped absorbing magic and turning colors.   Rainbow weeds also burn very quickly and the same color as the magic they've absorbed when they are ground into a powder which leads to them being used in fireworks and other pyrotechnics.   When used in the creation of inks the inks are very useful for writing magical formulae.  These inks are one of the Arraako plainsmen's biggest exports.
