Stained Glass
Stained glass, aka Prophecy Glass, was a talent discovered by accident. 'Glass witches' can predict the future by pooling their blood with that of the supplicant, mixing it with a special sand from the shore of Insulam Merano, then firing it in the kiln. As it hardens, it cracks into multicolored pieces, and those pieces are then formed into a mosaic that depicts an image of the future. Many, though not all, show death.
Only those assigned female at birth can create stained glass, a quirk of the blood passed down from mothers to daughters. It's a rare gift made rarer when stained glass was outlawed, and all known glass witches were exiled to Insulam Merano. It was once considered a holy practice, and while new creation is forbidden, existing windows are still collected and curated by the Ladies of the Pane to be displayed in city temples.
Effect
Once set, a stained glass window depicts a moment in the future.
Manifestation
Both the witch making the window and the person seeking the prophecy donate blood which is then mixed with sand from a specific beach, and placed over a high heat. It spreads as it bakes, before cracking into dozens of pieces. The witches use a special solder to pull the image together. The smell of blood is strong when the window is first made, and fades with time.
