There's a lot of reasons for that pride - some nations are blessed by gods, others fought tooth and nail to stand today. Where there is fufillment there is pitfall, though - there is no 'good' state, only good and bad people in every state. For every person caught up in jingoism, there is another disillusioned for all the same reasons. Regardless of your thoughts on the matter, Memdia's nations are mighty, flawed, and full of history."
Borders ebb and flow over time, but a lot of Memdia's major cultures can be broken down into 9 great nations. They did not all exist in their prime at the same time, some came into being as others crumbled, but in the heat of the story, they are touchstones of what Memdia is, was, and will always be. They are our empires, republics, city states big and small, but most importantly, they are our center stage.
