Cetlios
Prima Cetlios (a.k.a. The Twilight Sovereign)
Divine excellence and quiet trickery make grand bedfellows. The Divine Bestowery of Magic. The Loom-Maker. The Twilight Sovreign. One of Illiasm's Seven "Deity Prima" , Cetlios is the Fire-giver of Memdia, at least in the eyes of those who worship them. Made from the clay that fell from the divine citadel of Cirri, Cetlios was strung together based on the wishes of the other Deity Prima and made to watch over what they did with their gifts, making Cetlios the only Deity Prima that never knew the ruined citadel. Keeping an eye on all of creation is a laborious job, so they spend most of their days not partying in the heavens, rather in quiet meditation in the Temple Prima of Illia's innermost chamber, where its said they expand their vision to watch over every Magi in Memdia. During the holding periods between day and night though, they rise to speak amongst the people in their presence. In these moments mortals see a gentle, mild-mannered individual with a soothing voice and a fair bit of dry wit. Though brief in it's appearances, those who work in the Temple Prima can't help but gain a fondness for the god on land, and in their many years of brief conciousness has even been known to take a fair few lovers amongst their closest circle. Underneath the ever-closed eyes and melodic timbre is ultimately a God of Magic, a proto-Magician at that. In their honey words lies many a verbal trap that could get the reckless caught in a bargain they can't fufill, in much more of a relationship with the God of Mystery than they ever bargained for. Much like the Essence-woven they were made alongside, it is prudent to be careful what those golden eyes try the gleam about you.
Divine Domains
The Divine Bestower of Magic, Cetlios represents everything to do with the art of Weaving within Illiasm. For this they encapsulate not just magic- but willpower, study, health and wellness, as well as mystery, taboo, and hubris, creation and chaos. They are also held as a God of Selflessness, following the stories of how they were created merely to give the people of Memdia the gift of magic.
Most importantly to the devout of Cetlios is the domain of Truth. Mystery and truth are two sides of a single coin - one cannot exist without the other, and not all are worthy of the direct Truth.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The interlocked halos make for the most prevelant of symbols, often affixed to veils worn by it's clergy and those on pilgrimages. Also known is the "one eye open" - a symbol of observing the world with both the physical senses and and the spiritual ones. Because of this, many devout followers of Cetlios will cover one eye with hair, cloth, or an eyepatch.
A common number associated with Cetlios is 449 - to represent the 449 stories Cetlios listened too from all the other creatures on Memdia before ever telling one of their own.
Tenets of Faith
While Cetlios's followers for the most part follow the tenets of Illiasm as they are one of the faith's "Deity Prima" , the especially devout add a handful of codes to their conduct.
- Know from where you gained information before you speak it
- Never knowingly speak a falsehood
- Save the truth to those deserving
Holidays
On the Solstices, many flock to Nabora to witness Cetlios rise from meditation for a full day as opposed for the fleeting few hours of sunrise and sunset when they are cognizant to only the most devoted. There they seek advice, wisdom, blessings and answers to life's burning questions in the fleeting few moments they may have its attention. The god stays present for as long as they can, but as sunset comes in the summer and sunrise in the winter, off they drift to bring the Sun around the world once again.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
They desire true freedom among all of mortality, the pursuit of creation and the manifestation of ideals across reality. In the eyes of them and those who follow them with great zealotry, the fallout that comes with such freedom is a gift to be celebrated just as much as the act of Weaving itself. Always attentive to its followers but always prodding them to come up with their own solutions, they wish to be a guiding hand toward Memdians path to personal greatness, thus further enriching the tapestry they are made out of.
Physical Description
Physical quirks
A body made of paste-like but elegant red clay, Cetlios's body is suspended by the essence that weaves through their sculpted joints like wire through a puppet, including a glowing essence 'heart' suspended in their abdomen and cracks of energy seeping through the worn plates. The exact nature of these cracks and leaks vary wildly between sightings, but none ever seem to change their health or tempermant.
