The party enjoyed a day of relative calm, exploring the markets of Everbrook and purchasing new equipment, trinkets, and companions. However, peace was short-lived: a public rebuke from the local Selûnite church escalated into an investigation that exposed widespread corruption. The fallout provoked the wrath of the green worm responsible for the scheme—culminating in an attack on the inn itself.

• Act I – A Day in the Markets
  • Scene: The party spent the morning shopping throughout Everbrook.
    • Action: Nissa purchased a finely enchanted pea shooter.
    • Action: The lunar girls and Adaranth Monroe spent the morning shopping for hats and jewelry, accompanied by the generous-seeming warlock, who only grumbled a little bit about footing the bill.  
• Act II – Familiars and Flight
  • Scene: The group visited a specialty pet shop catering to Everbrook’s arcanists.
    • Action: The shop offered creatures commonly trained as familiars, including owls, ravens, pseudodragons—and a selection of elegant winged cats known as Tressym.
    • Action: Draphi Oturo, charmed by their intelligence and grace, decided to buy a Tressym for everyone in the party.
    • Action: Each companion selected their own winged feline, bonding over the rare sight of peaceful, purring flight.
• Act III – The Scandal in Print
  • Scene: A new edition of the city paper circulated later that day.
    • Action: The local Selûnite church placed a paid editorial condemning the twins’ “demonic summoning” act and “improper attire” from the public performance.
    • Action: Outraged, FaLaSu and ZaRaSu set out to confront the temple leadership directly and clear their names.

• Act V – The Worm’s Retaliation
  • Scene: As the twins returned to the inn, a new threat emerged.
    • Action: An elder green worm—the mastermind behind the city’s money-siphoning scheme—launched a retaliatory attack on the inn.
    • Action: The fight was long and brutal; the creature’s magical resistance and psychic pressure forced the heroes to adapt quickly.
    • Action: Adaranth struck the worm with her tail, and the party learned two things: her tail is a capable weapon, and her natural venom reacts violently with the green worm’s strange physiology.
• Act VI – Aftermath and Reflection
  • Scene: The company recovered in the aftermath of the battle as investigators arrived.
    • Action: The innkeeper promptly contacted the local worm investigation office, summoning a team led by Arcanist Gexon.
    • Action: Gexon, impressed by the sheer size of the slain creature, examined the remains and remarked that worms of this magnitude “don’t move without a reason.”
    • Action: He cautioned the group that such activity might indicate a deeper disturbance, and urged them to contact him immediately should they encounter anything similar again.
