Season 3, Session 13 - The Star Voyager Arrives

Date Played: 2024-10-06 • In-Game Date: 26 Jazur, 3520 NY

A new star charts her course toward Everbrook. Drawn by prophecy and cosmic curiosity, Orilia arrives in a world divided by moons, magic, and fate.

Recap Summary

Far beyond Toril’s atmosphere, the explorer Orilia followed a prophetic vision that led her to a strange sight—the crystal sphere of Toril fractured by temporal stress, its overlapping shards drifting in slow motion across the void. Enticed by mystery and guided by her astrological insight, she descended toward the world below, where familiar moons and unfamiliar omens awaited. Her journey ended at the doors of the Crown’s Heirloom Inn, where destiny introduced her to Everbrook’s eclectic band of heroes.

Acts, Scenes, and Moments

  • Act I – The Fractured Sphere
    • Scene: Orilia’s arrival in realmspace.
    • Action: Following the words of an old prophecy, as well as her visions, Orilia reached the crystal sphere surrounding Toril—only to find it deeply fractured, a vast crack dividing its shell into overlapping shards suspended in the void.
    • Action: Knowing that when a sphere fractures under temporal stress, each shard can hold its own version of reality, Orilia carefully observed which region might hold the most promising secrets.
    • Action: With her keen eye for discovery, she circled the fractured shell, charting energy patterns and celestial signatures while searching for a stable point of entry into one of the shards.
  • Act II – The Shards of Wonder
    • Scene: Observation and selection.
    • Action: Among the fragmented realms, one shard stood out—an intact reflection of Toril adorned with two familiar silvery moons and a third, vast flaming body trailing sparks across the void.
    • Action: “Now that’s the interesting one,” she murmured, steering her shrike ship toward the shard glowing with fire and possibility.
    • Action: Using her Astrology skill, Orilia mapped the shard’s celestial geometry and found that its secondary moon hovered directly over Everbrook—specifically above the district where the Crown’s Heirloom Inn rested below.
  • Act III – Landing and First Contact
    • Scene: Descent and approach.
    • Action: Orilia landed her shrike vessel outside the city walls and entrusted its safekeeping to her loyal crew.
    • Action: She made her way into Everbrook on foot, drawn toward the inn by instinct and celestial geometry.
    • Action: Knocking on the door of the Crown’s Heirloom Inn, Orilia was astonished to find her long-lost first mate Aroh among the heroes. Their reunion—years overdue—quickly turned from disbelief to laughter, and it was this connection that earned her welcome inside and formal introduction to the rest of the party.
    • Action: After exchanging stories and meeting the others, Orilia learned that the inn was home to a remarkable group—and conveniently built with a flat rooftop, perfect for landing her shrike ship. She soon returned to fetch her vessel, this time with her rediscovered first mate at her side.
  • Act IV – Signs in the Sky
    • Scene: Confirmations from the heavens.
    • Action: Consulting her charts once more, Orilia verified that Abeir was no longer falling toward Toril, its motion stabilized.
    • Action: The newly manifested “second Selûne” appeared stationary as well, locked directly above the inn, in a serene celestial balance.
  • Act V – The Audition That Wasn’t
    • Scene: Zedhryx’s private “tryout.”
    • Action: Not long after her arrival, Zedhryx Trevelle approached Orilia with what he called a “private audition,” hoping to gauge her musical talent for possible inclusion in the group’s performances. He had no idea he was speaking to a virtuoso savant of galactic renown.
    • Action: Orilia found the proposal both presumptuous and faintly insulting—the suggestion that she needed to prove herself to a man who couldn’t even recognize her artistry.
    • Action: During the exchange, Adaranth Monroe made exaggerated faces behind Zedhryx’s back, clearly irritated by what she perceived as him “flirting with another performer.” Her jealousy simmered just beneath her usual stage charm.
    • Action: The tension became obvious when Orilia, unimpressed by both the brashness of Zed’s offer and Adaranth’s antics, told him pointedly to give the dancer some attention instead. Taking the hint, Zedhryx left with Adaranth in tow, leaving Orilia to a dignified silence.
