New Valyrian Scholar's Guild
The final and perhaps most complicated Guild of New Valyria had it's inception from a journey to Westeros to recruit many young Maestors who weren't interested in being Servants to older Maestors, or getting involved in the Politics of Lords, but instead had a passion for research and study. When New Valyria requested their support and offered them "more meaningful" work many young Maestors willingly moved over, some even bringing family members.
Eventually, the Maestors, were joined by several talented Teachers in the Apprenticeship Program, Ancient Lorekeepers of the resurgent Valyrian Church and Sages of the Firelight Order.
The Scholar's Guild would dedicate itself to documenting teachings and theories and bringing intellectuals together to research further innovations while spreading existing knowledge to others, however unlike the other Guilds, the Scholar's guild is affected by an overbearing and confusing internal bureaucracy and struggles to truly fit into the larger Freehold.
- The Education branch is responsible for implementing the great Education Reforms of New Valyria and teaching the classes of the various newly constructed schools.
- The Clerk Branch which oversees the documentation and organization of the Guild's innovations as well as the slow construction of Libraries as the literacy level of the Freehold increases.
- The Arcane Studies Branch focuses on the study of Creatures, Gods and Magic, seeking to venture into the unknown beyond the realm of men.
- The Medical Herbology Branch focuses on the research of the many strange new Herbs and Plants that have begun to grow in the Wake of the Doom as well as their potential usage in countering Illnesses which are also studied in greater detail.
