Personality

Originating from the common citizenry, Able has the rough hands and weathered face of a seasoned sailor. He is rarely invited to the wealthy social events not that he would have attended anyways. Able is almost completely absorbed by his work. In fact he has invested almost the entirety of his adopted family's wealth into his trade company. It is not gold that drives him, but his ambition to dominate the industry.  

History

Born into a minor merchant house, Able’s family occupied an odd middle ground between the Senatorial and Citizen Classes. Though he still had to work on the family's trade ship he was afforded an education. His affinity for business and good penmanship caught the eye of the aging Usman Qadir. The elder patriarch never had a taste for women, and after his fiasco with Talina Bahin. He never attempted to father another child, ignoring the issue of succession. To Usman the teenage prodigy seemed to fit the role of heir.   Usman threw the young Able into the deep end giving him full control of his finances. A risky move that seemed to pay off. The elder statesman continued to live in luxury making vague promises to Able about including him in his will. Able found the ludicrous expenses of his patron infuriating. Everytime it seemed he had finally balanced the budget there would suddenly be a spike in Usman's spending. The Qadir’s maintain their political dormancy through Magister Qarlon’s term and the chaotic aftermath of his death. Finally the octogenarian passed surprising Able with his adoption papers. Magister Illan, eager to earn a new wealthy ally, happily confirmed the adoption. Able Qadir finally having the financial freedom he always dreamed of, now seeks to build his own trade empire.
