Origin & Source
Long ago, before death itself existed, neither did angels. Once death was discovered and souls needed a place to go, the heavens and hells became those locations. One particular god that's name is now forogotten, recognized that the spuls being converted into angels needed weapons to protect their realm because it was such a desired location. He went to the smiths of Valhalla and asked them to make weapons for his army of angels and in return he would send a group of his soldiers to protect the sky city until it fell. The weapons were made and then the god sacrificed himself to enchant the weapons and turn the metal into this new substance, Syrmon. Some say Syrmon was the name of the lost god but it will never be proven. The god split his soul into many fragments and imbued the metal with them. Syrmon has never been recreated, only reforged and it can only be reforged in the smiths of Valhalla. Part of the enchantment on the metal is that no smith outside of Valhalla can affect the metal.
