Human Ethnicities

Rozani, Human   Rozani Humans are typically considered to be the craftiest of all humans, at their best. Hailing from the fertile fields of Lake Tarpea, Humans of the Rozani come in all shapes and sizes, from pale to dark, tall to short, they are as versatile and well rounded as the Empire which they birthed. Without a doubt the largest population group in all of Medolania, humans of the Empire are seen everywhere, from the shores of Drakkenhaus in the south to the snow-kissed Frostrim to the North, there is no soil on Medolania where Rozani sandals have not touched.   Rozani Humans typically value law and order, having built the greatest Empire the continent has seen, fealty to one's ruler, the maintenance of a strong army and the pursuit of unity above all else. This is reflected in the many institutions they have built since the birth of the Empire, such as the House of Black and Gold, The Legion of Rozan, the construction of the Empire and, the pride of the Rozani, their beloved Senate House.   Their detractors may argue that the Rozani are greedy, driven by money, power and control, with no respect for cultures of others and are bent on a mission to eliminate and assimilate other races into the Empire through any means necessary. Truly, it is hard to know their motivations, though it is inarguable that their presence on Medolania has shaped politics on the continent for centuries.   Frostha, Human   Frostha Humans bear more of a resemblance to the stout hearted Helvenii of the south than to their Rozani counterparts. Hailing from the Frostrim, these people are as old as the continent itself, worshipping gods ancient and faceless to all but those who's young soles tasted the snow of the Frostrim. These people are less varied than the Rozani, typically being well-built or athletic, of pale complexion and tall bodied, sporting darkened hair and typically blue or green eyes.   The Frostha typically value freedom of body, mind and soul, committing themselves only to the Empire out of fealty to its strength, rather than any misguided sense of loyalty. With the banning of the worship of most of their old gods, these humans typically align themselves with the values of a god such as Ogham, worshipping the knowledge provided to them in return for their survival and worship. These independently minded people are commonly seen in Rozani territory and even as far down as Beograd, though it is uncommon for them to cross the Joint.   Within the bounds of the Empire, these hardy people make excellent hunters, crafters and soldiers, with a large portion of the Empire's crack troops during the Reclamation having hailed from the Frostrim.   Orskathan, Human   The Orskathan are another breed of human entirely, with deep ties to the Desert lands which kissed the shores of their homeland. Dark skinned and dark eyed, these people have a deep connection to the land around them, practicing druidic magics and rituals with their halfling and gnomish counterparts, forming a civilisation focused heavily around alchemy, medicines, poisons and all manner of plant-based magics. It is commonly said in the Empire, "when ill, send for an Orskathan, when illness is required, send for an Orskathan", such is their reputation as skilled healers and poisoners.    Emerian, Human   The Emerian folk are undoubtedly the most militaristic and industrious in the Empire, controlling the Empire's largest port city, Emerhall and offering skilled miners and craftsmen to brave the fires of the Hellish Peaks to feed the ore needs of the Empire. Typically of short build and varying complexion, these people are well versed in all manner of skills, from sailing, fishing, fighting and mining, it is often joked by other factions in the Empire that Emerians are bi-products of unions between Dwarves and Humans. You won't hear an Emerian laughing at that though, not for long anyway.   These hardy and fortuitous people value consistency, strength and bravery above all else. This can be seen in their willingness to brave the fires of the Peaks, sail into the unknown waters of the Sea of Souls, the fact that they did not secede from the Empire during the uprising and their pride in the House of Black and Gold, which keeps its home in the center of Emerhall.
