A magical eclipse that erased much knowledge from the minds and records of mortals.

In the closing years of the age of conquest the usurper of the heavens, -knowing it could not win its war-, used all of its remaining power to cast a spiteful curse over the mortal realm. Overnight, it erased much of the world's knowledge on magic, technology and history, both from the written records as well as the minds of the people.   The event takes its name from the Tripura civilisation, which was the most advanced society of its day. The loss of so much knowledge caused all of their magical and technological wonders they relied on to stop functioning, as none could remember how they worked. This event caused untold disaster in Tripura and other powerful civilisations, as the floating cities that housed most of the ruling classes came tumbling down to earth.
