Go'Rim: Flora and Fauna
With the change in terrain after the collapse came a diversification in flora and fauna. Trees and plants which had thrived in the mountains were suddenly assaulted by sea water and winds off the waves. Creatures lost their natural hunting or grazing grounds and were forced to adapt. Many of these species died out but some few adapted and survived. The most popularly known are the sea wolves. Packs of canine hunters driven over the centuries to hunt the shallow waters of the cluster. Now the sea wolves swim silently through the waters that cover the ancient plains and prey on anything they can. Also known to any who has seen it is the wonder of the sea foam grass. This grass can be seen covering the slopes of the south facing island hills and is often mistaken as a massive wave at first by approaching ships who are unfamiliar. The sea green swaths of grass ripple in the ocean breeze reflecting light in dazzling ways. The heads of the grass split into white-green seeds that seem, even at moderate distances, to be the foam on the crest of a breaking wave.
Many who have studied the flora and fauna of Go’rim suspect magical interference in the local adaptations though none has ever been proven.
