Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.) is a privately funded think tank organized by a group of brilliant scientists whose sole dedication is to discover relentlessly even through unethical means. They supply arms and technology to radicals and subversive organizations in order to foster a violent technological revolution in society while making a profit. Based on A.I.M. Island, their legal operations include the Targo Corporation, International Data Integration and Control (IDIC), Cadenza Industries, Koenig and Strey, Omnitech, and Pacific Vista Laboratories. The leader of the organization has changed many times over the years, but is always given the title Scientist Supreme. Throughout the years, there have been several splinter groups that broke away due to diverging agendas.
