The Forgotten Bridge Refuge
Hidden beneath an unassuming stone bridge on an old trade road, this secluded hideout was once a squalid lair, littered with debris, old traps, and the bones of less fortunate wanderers. Discovered early in their journey, the party cleared it out, uncovering a surprisingly sturdy subterranean complex.
Within its cool stone halls, they found ancient heated baths that still function, fed by quietly burbling channels of geothermal warmth. Beside them lies an ice-cold spring, so frigid it tests the endurance of anyone who dares immerse themselves — yet those who withstand its biting chill emerge heartier, their constitution subtly fortified.
Now restored, the refuge boasts several small rooms used for rest and storage. At its far end, a blocked spiral stairway descends into unknown darkness, its stones worn smooth by countless feet in ages past. The party has yet to discover where these stairs lead, leaving the promise — or threat — of deeper secrets slumbering just out of reach.
