Nitsa the Small
The giants of Totius were products of a war fueled pedigree. Their sole purpose was to help defeat the prideful dragons who rejected the god's status. Nitsa, however, would not serve long.
While in combat, an arch-sorcerer dragon banished his phalanx to another world. One of thawing ice. They survived off of raiding the inhabitants scattered throughout the melting glaciers. Then came the day they attacked a foe beyond their normal prey.
The warrior made short work of the ambushing giants, however Nitsa showed potential. If only for a moment. The traveler decided that Nitsa could be useful if honed a bit. So, they offered him an opportunity to become his student. Nitsa accepted.
Nitsa learned much, and became prideful of his new found skills. The warrior seemed to approve and then offered him a school of his own, The Sweeping Glaive, to train even stronger students. Nitsa accepted, but something always bothered him; what did he mean by "even stronger students"? He was going to be the strongest. He was the first to be chosen. Why would his teacher want others?
Nitsa continued his task for almost fifty years while contemplating his position. His jealousy slowly rotted his mind. He obtained and deployed a puppet, Sweeper, as a mask to keep him away from society. Keeping his identity to himself and his few closest minions. He decided he would show his teacher who was stronger. Who was better.
Nitsa would enlist his new group of successful students, his Starlings, to compete in a tournament against his teacher's chosen champions. Nitsa would show his real worth. That's when fate twisted on him.
The very same group of warriors that his teacher had been eyeing arrived in Cynopolis. They distracted his Starlings with drink and challenges of strength and lost love when instead they should be ready for their tournament. The Starlings came in second to the team of the The Ascending Hammer. To add insult, the rogue party joined in and landed third place just behind his own students. Nitsa had enough.
