Kova Base Layer Set
Grants +5 resistance against extremely cold temperatures.
This matching shirt-and-trouser set is one of Kova Coldwear’s newest releases, built from thinned caribou skin with the fur left attached, then carefully shaved down to a sleek, low-profile nap. The result is thin and slightly tight-fitting without feeling restrictive, warm without feeling bulky, and soft enough that some travelers swear by it as campwear once the boots come off.
The long-sleeve shirt is cut with extra length and a subtly tapered waist, making it easy to tuck securely into the pants’ waistband for those who prefer less shifting fabric while hiking, climbing, or working in wind. Kova’s early prototypes for this set were rigorously tested, dragged through months of field trials, sweat-freeze cycles, and repeated refits. The current model is the “quiet victory lap” of those lessons.
