    The Great Rhythm
    Celestial / Cosmic

It is said that the gods saw the world and all was quiet. Then the gods began to play music and with their beating wings and stomping hooves magic flooded the world. This magic seeped into the hearts of the beasts and gave them minds and hearts of their own as well as the capability to cast magic. It is the last time the gods of the Amaranth worked together as one.

    The Anchors
    Celestial / Cosmic

Long before any country formed it is said that roving tribes of beasts found various anchors to the elemental realms. Some of these anchors had guardians who protected them while others did not. These anchors were places of power where one could channel great and terrible power. Some of the beasts that took hold of these anchors started abusing their powers and destroying the land with them. The gods in response created elemental guardians for the anchors that were vulnerable so that they could remain defended against those that would abuse them. This old creation myth isn't celebrated by many save for a few scholars, witches, and druids.

    The Empires of the Spirits
    Political event

After the beasts of the world lost their homes to the guardians of the anchors they were adrift. Many found themselves in the dominion of the greater beasts. Certain beasts could not receive the gifts of the Great Rhythm while others received it in full. These creatures became known as the Great Spirits of Nature. They were mammoth creatures that did not age and held great power. They created empires, each caring for the beasts under their control.    Over time though the lesser beasts grew more and more sophisticated and more independent. They developed technologies and magics that the greater beasts scoffed at and ignored. Eventually, all around the globe the lesser beasts broke away from the greater beasts they once worshipped and started to form their own communities, towns, and soon countries.    By the Hora 278 no lesser beast remained in the dominion of a greater beast and the greater beasts returned to nature alone.

The Great Desert War of 355
    Military action

A great drought took hold of the country of Octilom as well as its neighbors. This created uprisings within the countries which in turn created stronger militaries. In order to quell the cries of the people Octilom and its neighbors, Chikara and Humblewood, went to war.   This day was the start of the Great Desert war of 355. The great war lasted ten years and fractured Humblewood and Octilom. From Humblewood's fracture came the Bafal Marg, a country of independent city-states. The leaders of Octilom unleashed a terrible magic that ended up backfiring on them and creating a swirling sinkhole in the Octilom desert. Octilom was split into two kingdoms East and West Octilom.

    The Calamities
    Disaster / Destruction

During this time the anchors of flame, stone, and air were disturbed by unknown forces and caused devastation across Humblewood, Rosalia, and the Gavrilo Principalities. A powerful Druid named Gifu Dustclaw resealed each anchor and stopped these calamities. He then formed the Tenders, a group of druids meant to repair the damages to nature caused by the calamities.
