Wurmshire
Domain of the Shadow Dragon Marofax
Wurmshire is a small area in the north east half of the country Wyrlin. Within Wurmshire exists three hamlets and several smaller homesteads.( Lindenwin , Tarragon, Pataya (Pit-Tee-a)). The area is known for being a relatively peaceful place with little to no crime and virtually no military presence. While most of the people in Wurmshire are countrymen to Wyrlin , very few have seen the nobility of the land, much less the royalty. The exception to this is when the Coroner would arrive to collect taxes yearly from the elders just before the Harvesting.
Religion
The people of Wurmshire worship a dragon god named Marofax . This primarily comes in the form or Tithing throughout the year and them offer these gifts, ½ of all harvest food, and a young maiden to him in a festival known as the Harvesting. Those who refuse to participate are exiled and in rare cases executed. Should a hamlet’s offerings to Marofax be considered inadequate their town and its people are scorched to ash with no survivors. If Marofax is satisfied, he returns to his horde with the maiden to “protect” the Shire for another year. Despite this there are still whispers of other pagan gods that dare not be spoken of in common company.Other Location

Geography
The Dwarven mines of Pataya are long abandoned mines that cut through the mountain chain of Wyrlin which separate the north from the south. The mines themselves were originally used to harvest a rare metal named Sarphite. It is particularly valued as Saphite is not found almost anywhere else in the world. The mines however were closed due to a series of increasingly rough accidents in the mines.
The Grand OakThe Grand Oak is a Massive tree on the Lindenwin side of the Wyrlin mountain chain. While it is not used for much currently, in previous ages it was a very important religious site.
Marren’s springsMarren’s springs is a relatively unknown hot springs in the mountainous area north of Lindenwin near Patya Pass. Marren’s springs are high in sulphur which causes those who know about them to claim it has almost mystical healing benefits. Around the spring are thick granite stones, many of which has been worn smooth to a point of them forming natural seating. Despite being named for a wood sign hanging on one of the trees overlooking the spring, it is unclear as to who the Marren on the sign refers to.
Mire of AgnisThe Mire of Agnis is a swamp a few days south of Lindenwin that is rarely if ever entered. It is known for its vast pits of tar, it’s black murky waters, and insects the size of buses. As there is no real game there and it is almost impossible to navigate through very little is known about the location.
Fauna & Flora
The Wurmshire is a largely wooded area with many hardwoord deciduous trees in it's southern half near Lindenwin and Terragon. This starts to change the further north one travels with the forest near Pataya being largely made tall evergreen. Throughout the entire Wurmshire there is a plethora of naturally occurring vegetation making scavenging for food relatively easy. Berries, herbs, greens, and even some edible flowers are quite common in the forest leading to and around the Pataya mountain chains. Folklore accounts this to Fey which makes many residents of the Wurmshire squeamish about eating it unless the situation is dire.
Crisle treeCrisle trees are large trees with narrow bases and multiple trunks. They grow up to 20 feet tall and are renowned for the flexibility of their wood. Despite smelling like cinnamon, the trees do not taste like it and in fact emit a sticky sap that in unimaginably itchy. It can be safely harvested and used for a number of things, particularly pest control.
Natural Resources
Saphite is a rare metal that comes from deep within Pataya mountains. It’s a dark blue ore that becomes more pale when it is worked in armor, weapons, and tools. Aside from it’s remarkable coloring, Saphite is most renown for its ability to repel and even cut through Fey creatures. It is said to be more effect than cold iron and so the Dwarves who worked it would often leave a nail made of Saphite above doors or other portals to keep out unwanted fairyfolk.
FeywoodA naturally occuring Ironwood that does not require intervention from a druid to be created. It has a light red finished colour to it making it quite valuable as furniture material. So much so that it is sometimes referred to as red gold. Through a well kept secret technique, there are some that have been know to be able to work Feywood into power armor which resist dragonfire and weapons that cut through the protections of dragonkind.
SkyMetalThis is rare metal harvested from fallen stars that gives things crafted from it inky waves of blacks and greys across the steely blues that comprise the bulk of the metal. Weapons made from this metal are known to be supernaturally sharp although next to impossible to initially sharpen. Due to this, it's rare for a smith luckily enough to get to work with SkyMetal to waste it on a weapon that is so niche.
Customs and Culture
Lindenwin, Pataya, Terragon (Surname)As peasants of Wyrlin, many of the commonfolk do not have proper surnames. As such they will commonly adopt the name of the town they were born in.
Gregory the Blackgard (Perform DC 12) (Song)Gregory the Blackgard is a slow mournful song about a young boy forced into a life of crime after the death of his parents. In the song he falls in love with a girl who attempts to change him but only falls victim to his life. The song concludes with him taking his own life after directly causing the death of his love. The song is closely associated with regrets and is most commonly performed at funerals. While this practice is the most common in the northern half of Wurmshire (Around Pataya) it is not uncommon to be heard at services in the south as well.
