Sun Quarter

"Every day we awaken to the neverending light of the Suns which beam down mercilessly. Kept neatly within our walls and foundation, where the worms cannot penetrate, and the hungering animals outside cannot get us. Relying on our capable hunters to bring us the flesh of our predators as sustenance. This is life here in Ventra, the cradle of Axan society, surrounded on all sides by fire, sand, and death. Welcome home." -Opening Line of the "Saan Ventra", one of the first guides to Ventra ever writen.

Geography

Constantly barraged by the light of the twin Suns Envy and Joy, the aptly named Sun Quarter is extremely hot, and mostly devoid of flora. Though life found a way. Creatures here somehow found a way to strike a delicate Balance of purely carnivorous life. Of course this drastically changed during the Year of Miracles when plant life was introduced to this place in the form of the Field of Ashara. There are multiple sub biomes here of course, but no matter where you go, it only gets hotter. From the Field of Ashara, you can move onto the hard, cracked ground of the Protenth Desert, named for the Ruin at its heart. Or, you could pass onto the sandy, loose footing of the Calandria Desert where Colovan Worms roam wild beneath the Sands.   The Most notable features of this hardly metaphorical hell; is Ventra where somehow people have adapted to these extremes, the Fyrestone Cavern and its massive Thar Hive ruled by the Thar Queens as well as Toban Village which rests above it, the Protenth Ruin which is the only known source of Pyrotheum, and finally the Sol Temple where an ancient civilization harnessed cosmic energies.

Fauna & Flora

While the Sun Quarter (mostly) lacks plant life, it does have an abundance of extreme lifeforms, who have evolved under extreme conditions. Creatures evolved larger teeth, longer claws, or even spikes to help them hunt their predators on even footing. Aside from the Savannah grass of the Field of Ashara, there really isnt any plant life here. An attempted Alphebetical List.   Colovan Worm
