Tikbalang

A tikbalang is a cruel forest spirit that uses illusions, charms, and shapeshifting to lure travelers into the lairs of dangerous beasts. They appear as gangly humanoids with equine features. The tikbalang avoid direct combat, often stalking travelers through their domain, and attempting to steer them to the lairs of dangerous beasts. If a tikbalang is cornered, it will attempt to use its illusions and its Misty Step spell to quickly escape.   Tikbalang may either defend their own territories or may serve as guardians or agents of more powerful fey.

Its statistics are the same in each form, and it cannot closely mimic specific individuals. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying is also transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.   Magic Resistance. The tikbalang has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.   Speak with Beasts and Plants. A tikbalang is a fey forest spirit that uses shapeshifting and illusions to lead travelers through their domains to ruin. Perhaps they were once protectors akin to dryads, twisted by the Hagblight into ugly, spiteful forms.
