Fairy Iron

Iron on Mangal is incredibly rare, and any natural deposits are inaccessible deep beneath roots and brine.     Some fey, however, manifest iron body parts, weapons, or clothing, such as the iron teeth and nails of Annis hags or the iron boots of Redcaps.  Once these evil fey are slain, their iron can be used to forge weapons or tools.  Fairy Iron is no different than normal iron for most purposes, save it more easily accepts enchantments that might interact with fey and their magic.     It remains rare, as there is not many types of fey from which it can be harvested, and fewer adventurers are willing to risk their lives in the wilds to obtain it.  Due to being such a rarity, finding someone with the skill and tools to shape the iron is difficult, though some among the Order of the Ashen Ring have learned the smithing craft from their Masters.    Fairy Iron is primarily used for small blades, arrowheads, and fine tools.  Most items crafted from Fairy Iron are enchanted in some fashion eventually, and it is safe to assume that found items made of it will be magical to some degree.
