Aura

All living things in Mangal generate a mystic energy, known as aura, which bleeds into the Umbral Mists. This energy fuels magic and gives rise to certain types of magical creatures. Aura can be collected, channeled, transformed, and even manifest in physical forms. Aura is invisible, but can be sensed with Truesight and similar abilities. Different types of living and supernatural creatures create different types of aura, below are the most common.  

Wild Aura

Wild aura is generated by plants and animals. This aura is the basis of magic used by druids and other nature based traditions. Wild aura also manifests in the form of fey creatures. Fey are unique in that they are spontaneiously created by aura, rather than generating it.  

Mortal Aura

Mortal races were created or augmented in the distant past by various deities to generate much more potent aura. Mortal aura is the most maliable, and can be more easily transmuted to mimic other types of aura. Mortals also release a powerful burst of aura imprinted with their memories upon death, which typically would travel to their diety's domain as a Petitioner, were it not for the Worldfast.
