The
Khünd Ajil have a series of myths surrounding the origin of life on
Kaveto Mountain, the mythical figure of Yos Züi, and the tenaciousness of Zai.
The Mountain Top
The legends tell that all animals from all races used to live in a lush valley at the very top of the Kaveto Mountain. The number of animals of each races differs between tellings, but varies from four of each race, to a small community, to cities. However, the animals had to leave the mountain and descend to the rest of
Malplenan. Most tellings agree that the races displeased Kaveto somehow, but do not agree on how Kaveto was displeased. Destorying the environment and warring with other races are common reasons used, but the tale is often adapted to teach children lessons about life.
When the animals descended, the Khünd Ajil,
Sqʷn̓ečstm,
Amikwànò and
Rueda all migrated south to form the Southern Nations. The rest of the races migrated north.
Yos Züi
When a tough decision must be made but the being cannot come to the decision on their own, the Khünd Ajil pray to Yos Züi to show them the truth and help guide their decision. This prayer is anything from a simple prayer to a larger ritual, sometimes taking hours to complete. The praying and meditation helps clear your mind and open yourself for the Yos Züi to flow through you which lets you view all sides of the issue and arrive at the best outcome for all involved.
Zai and Khadakh
Zai is one of the more popular myths of the Khünd Ajil. Zai is used as an example of exemplary work ethics and morality. Many Khünd Ajil will pray to Zai to help them get through their work. This is often contrasted against Khadakh who has a very poor work ethic and often does just the bare minimum required.
