The Divine Compact

When people encounter this compact, it is usually in the form of religious art, or epic poetry, or intriguing tales told by minstrels such as Dewi. It rarely makes much of an impact on the majority of people who encounter it, but some few seem to recognize the power inherent within it.   While there are many versions of this, some few themes seem to be universal or nearly so regardless of the way it is represented or the time or place the representation was created.
  • Before we were born we entered into this Compact with Deity.
  • We forgot we had made this agreement when we were born. Some say it was the interference of the Destroyer who caused this to happen. Others say it was always planned thus.
  • Even forgetting, we have both an internal guide and external ones to assist us.
  • We live our lives choosing between many opposing influences. Both the Creator and the Destroyer provide experiences and send agents to influence us.
  • When we die, we remember things we had forgotten, we continue to make choices based on our desires and who we have become and what we want to be.

Purpose

Designed to remind or teach humankind the relationship they should have with the Creator.

Public Reaction

Most people are vaguely aware of this compact, but few think much about it and it doesn't influence how they live their lives, despite its potential eternal ramifications.
In birth, I forget, a loss and a sleep;
My Soul is severed from its source.
But yet, I sense, though buried deep;
There is a path, a way, a course.

What streams of glory do I bear, I, offspring of the Divine?
When trials and tears and wickedness, bring blackness to my mind?
I'm not alone, I never was. Just listen, heed, and follow.
Then I am His, my life aligned, becomes one He can hallow.
