When eaten raw, the flower grants advantage on Perception Checks involving hearing.
The main potions made with this plant are potions made to cure the Deaf condition with the flower as the main ingredient, and a potion that gives the drinker the effects of a Comprehend Languages spell for 1 hour using the roots as the main ingredient.
History
Early history
Whisperweed is known to be from a far off realm that was one of the first plants to manage to survive in Malgrave's early history. Early people of Malgrave found that separating part of the plant and its roots, something whispered into one flower still resonated in all of them. They were used to cooderinate strategic warfare and send warnings to camps during the Cleansing War and is largely considered the biggest reason people survived through that war.
Additional History
Even as the ages continued, whisperweed was used frequently as a way to keep communication between friends, families and allies. The upkeep for these plants, however, was tedious and required the full time attention of a druid. As communities grew and the old alliances and relationships faded, their use largely dropped. It was further compounded by the invention of the Sending Stone. While the stone was far more limited, it was easier to manage and the whisperweed slowly faded into obscurity.
