Flameheart

The Blazing Totem - Flameheart (a.k.a. Ember)

Flameheart is one of the four tricksters with a heartbeat. She is born and dies in every wildfire that runs through the grasslands, though it's said she sees and hears through every burning ember of any fire. She is what gives fire its heat and bite, that pretends friendship with humans before raging and ravaging all it can.   She hates the Makkah Nation and most other heartbeat creature that lives in the grasslands. She considers only other tricksters worthy of life, especially those who follow her lead in wrecking chaos among the grassland tribes.   Like the Wind Cheveyo, she is not quite of the worlds and doesn't have a full physical form. She can be seen in wildfires as a tall woman with dark skin and straight black hair cut short at the jaw, and of course with her trickster-pale eyes with no irises or pupils.   Among the tricksters and fire spirits a religion has sprung up with her as their goddess. Her followers worship her as their savior, believe she will accomplish her goals of human extermination and bring justice.

Tenets of Faith

Humans deserve and must be punished for the many crimes against tricksters.   Fire is pure and can never be truly snuffed out.   Your powers and abilities are equivalent to your level of passion, and the more passionate you are, the more powerful and respected you will become.   We only have each other, it's us against everyone else - do not fear harming others, but never hurt another.   Those who don't follow the Blazing Totem must be purified, cleansed by fire. Those who don't survive the flames aren't strong enough to fight for this new world, and never deserved to live.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Flameheart means to exterminate the human race, kill or enslave the High Spirits, and bring about a new order, a whole different world where no-heartbeat creatures thrive and she guides them all in justice.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

She's extremely strong and fast, on levels even spirit binders could only dream of. Passion fuels her.

Identifying Characteristics

She bears a long, ragged scar on the left side of her face, running from her scalp through her eye and down to the edge of her jaw. The Grass Spirit's claws gave it to her, in one of their earlier battles.

Special abilities

She doesn't bind fire spirits to her heartbeat, but she runs with them, if you will. She's almost like a highly aware and powerful fire spirit, in a cheveyo's body. But her passion attracts fire spirits to her better than any binder's dance--it's folly to try and bind a fire spirit that runs with Flameheart, because they'll either refuse a contract or accept and backstab the binder.

Specialized Equipment

She carries a spear with a peculiar black stone tip that's said to have fallen from the stars and any weapon that crosses it shatters.

Mental characteristics

Gender Identity

Female, she/her

Sexuality

Lesbian

Mental Trauma

Her mind is as broken as any trickster's, her added power helping little when it burns so bright with hatred.

Morality & Philosophy

While her hatred is directed at the High Spirits and those who worship them, she doesn't care much of what she burns, as long as is does.   She knows she deserves so much more than this. Her kind are hunted and hurt for one reason only, the lack of a heartbeat that made the High Spirits denounce them as lesser than deserving of life, an abomination, a disease needed to be cleansed. Flameheart fights that idea with her whole being. Oh, she agrees that the world needs to be purified. Not of no-heartbeat creatures, but humans and their gods.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

She has a vision of a new world, one without humans or High Spirits, one ruled by her and her followers, one that finally, finally brings justice to her wronged kind. She wants to make that dream into reality above everything else.

Likes & Dislikes

She has a fondness for wild horses, a feeling they don't reciprocate.   She hates humans and most heartbeat creatures.

Virtues & Personality perks

She's incredibly passionate and driven, confident and brave, a surprisingly excellent leader. She cares so much for her kind, she burns and bleeds and battles for them, even when they don't want her to.

Vices & Personality flaws

She's harsh and unforgiving, feels no guilt over the people she murders and homes she destroys. She's full of hatred, burning with it.

Social

Contacts & Relations

None of the High Spirits like her, except the Grass Spirit finds her amusing. The Storm Spirit in particular gets upset when she causes trouble.   She's tried to get the Coyote to join her cause, since the majority of tricksters respect him, but he refused and led humans to their meeting place, laughing when Flameheart was nearly killed in the ambush--and darted away when she survived.

Family Ties

She's at odds with both of her remaining siblings, and misses her dead sister keenly.

Religious Views

She sees herself as the new goddess, the Blazing Totem, and believes she has the power to kill the High Spirits and remake the world.

Social Aptitude

She's charismatic in how passionate she is. Creatures can't help but listen when she speaks, roars. She's extroverted and confident and bold and unafraid and powerful and so certain, and things are attracted to that.

Hobbies & Pets

If she's feeling bored she'll start a random fire in a band's camp and relish in the chaos and pain.
