Gannilander
The Gannilander language is a distinct yet ancient form of the Common Tongue, a language that has evolved over centuries due to isolation in the rugged, remote lands of Ganniland. While the roots of Gannilander speech share similarities with older versions of the Common Tongue, it has developed its own unique vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, shaped by both the harsh environment and the isolation of the Gannilander people.
Despite its differences, the Gannilander language remains closely related to the Common Tongue, and Gannilanders are often fluent in both their native tongue and the Common Tongue, making them excellent communicators in broader societies. However, the Gannilander accent is thick and distinctive, often betraying their origins when they speak the Common Tongue.
Writing System
The Gannilander language uses the common alphabet in most cases, though there are more ancient runes that get used for ceremonial purposes.
