The Basilica, former Grand Hive and throne of the Metatron, has been converted into a sprawling research center full of engineers and capable minds, whose objective has become the study and eradication of Solace once and for all.

The Basilica, former Grand Hive and throne of the Metatron, has been converted into a sprawling research center full of engineers and capable minds, whose objective has become the study and eradication of Solace once and for all.
With the removal of the Metatron, hundreds of Proselytes and Partizans, the foot soldiers of Solace, suddenly found themselves with autonomy- the psychic connection to the Choir was severed for many, and a new society of the previously-assimilated and recently-liberated has begun to appear. Their presence among the clans is met with uncertainty in the best cases, and outright hostility in the worst. Some have assembled in groups of their own, and villages of Proselytes are slowly growing in population… for the first time since their abductions, they are finally free to exist as something other than a tool of conquest.
Solace, however, is not without its fail-safes. In the chaos of regicide, a new Metatron- or, rather, several- have begun to emerge from the wreckage of the Severing to continue the work left in Her absence. The Synod, a council of nine Ascendants previously under Edelweiss, have inherited the role of the Metatron unto themselves, guiding the Choir and continuing its grim work of complete assimilation. The Proselytization Engines still roam the wastes, snatching the unfortunate from their homes and assimilating them into the Hive with their grim induction rituals. Proselytes are still found across the land, scouting potential candidates for the Hive and reporting to the Choir. The threat that Solace represents is still very real, even if it has been weakened- it will only grow in power and hunger. "
