Step 3: Refine Item

Once you have determined how much essence you managed to extract from the monsters you just defeated you will have to make a choice how to use that essence. Each monster's essence is different and can be used for different things. If you want to refine a sword for example the essence will need the "Weapons (slashing)" tag. Example of an essence's Refine Tags:
  Once you have extracted essence it will be added to the Party Stash where you can analyze it and decide how to distribute it. Each item will gain xp equivalent of the amount of essence injected into it. After certain thresholds depending on the type of item (see sidebar on the right) the item will level up. Leveling items will give them the benefits of fundamental runes for weapons and armor, or other appropriate bonuses for shields and skill items.
