Week 1
Assignment 1
Consider what kind of changes would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
Luscariza is a world about the manifestation of emotion, and the power that emotions have over people and their lives. Any sort of changes should thematically tie to this in some way. Its a broad idea so there aren't a lot of limitations.
Changes should be categorized by their primary emotional motivations. So an uprising fueled by rage or fear, a catastrophic event fueled by a person's grief, an event of backlash against a horror inflicted by someone, etc, would all be easy to write from that perspective.
Assignment 2
Based on this, decide how many prompts you'll go for during Summer Camp. Then, download the pledge document and fill it accordingly!
I'm setting the bar at 16 prompts because my ADHD is likely to pull me away from WA again for a time, and so I'm unlikely to write every week. While I'd love to put in a ton of work each week and slam my way into double this, I don't think that's realistic. 16 prompts is the point where I think I'm pushing myself to do more than I would otherwise, but not an unachievable goal. If I manage to push more than this I'll be extatic, and If I do less I'll be a bit dissapointed but at least I'll have done something.
Assignment 3
Get your categories and tags organized!
My world has less than 20 articles I'd consider to be done properly, and less than 60 articles with content at all so I'm still fairly happy with my current category setup.
I'm a bit inexperienced with WA's tagging system so there isn't a ton to manage their either.
Assignment 4
Take a look at your meta, primer, and any other high-level document and update it according to the current state of your world.
Thankfully I've been keeping my meta fairly well managed lately because I'm in an exploration phase of what I'm doing with Luscariza.
Week 2
Assignment 1
Consider what kinds of refuge would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
There would be tons of different kinds of refuges in Luscariza, its supposed to be a functional world with lots of different sources of conflict. I'm excited about a few in particular though. At some point I want to get around to writing about The Changeling Capital (a refuge for changelings, to be themselves), and also an untitled country whose government has their citizens taking emotion surpressing drugs, out of fear of the horrors and attrocitites that overly strong emotions can bring.
Assignment 2
Find a community—whether that’s our Discord server, Facebook Group, your RPG or friend group, or something else.
I'm on the WA discord if I need help, but for me the best form of accountability available to me is dedicated time. So I will try to set aside time each tuesday to work on WA during the month of July.
Assignments 3 & 4
Assignments 3 & 4 are both related to the visual appeal of my articles which is something I've also recently redressed.
