The Red-Gold Chronicles: Chapters 1
First,
As recorded by the Archivist Loran
Tyrian Vancette-Ruschez, born of Lexan III Elminster-Ruschez and Camilla Vancette, most hallowed of the line of Ambrosian emperors, inheritor of Lusamiel, was born one month earlier than predicted. Despite this unpredictable arrival he grew into a healthy young man of great intellect and physicality. At even a young age he should remarkable cleverness and was the pride and joy of the Imperial household.
Due to a growing insurrection against the young Tyrian's father, the prince was escorted to the dwarven stronghold of Dabdan where he was to be raised until his father had stabilized the capital. During this time, Tyrian was granted the name Vante Rouche to live under so that his true identity was not discovered. Tyrian was taken in by the royal household, raised as one of the children of the king and queen of Dabdan he was beloved by the royal family and the servants alike. Much like the children of the royals he learned in their most esteemed academies and with their finest tutors. He would eat the best foods, sleep in the best beds, and have finest clothing. As he grew from six to thirteen, he astounded those around him with his ever greater shows of intelligence and his gift for the spoken word.
Tyrian amused himself in his seven years in Dabdan by visiting the great wonders of the cities. The sprawling markets, deep forges that melted electra and adamantine, and most often the arena where the mightiest fought for honor, fame, and fortune. There he witnessed the work of one Daggro Blunt-Edge who he took a liking to. Despite Daggro's many losses, hence his moniker, Tyrian hired the gladiator to be his guard. Daggro had little success as a gladiator, but in the brutal and lawless trade of protection he proved himself to be a worthy defender of the young prince.
Soon enough, Tyrian began to grow and became thirteen when he received word that his father had died in an accident. What form this accident took was undisclosed, and Tyrian felt little since he always considered the king and queen of Dabdan his true family. Tyrian was required to return to Koranlus so that he may assume the throne, but he knew well there would be danger. As did his uncle Mallus, who arranged for his nephew to be whisked away soon after arriving in the city, his uncle was killed by the assassins sent for the prince. Of the three assassins, two were slain by Daggro, but the last one was spared by Tyrian's request. This was a young elf named Callishta who had been raised to be a killer by the Steall of Koranlus. Tyrian offered his hand to the girl stating, "Your destiny belongs to yourself and no other. Join me and shape your future." The girl took his hand and led him out of the city and continued to protect him in the years to come.
After escaping the city, Tyrian's adventures and rise to power truly began. It is from this point that the legend of Tyrian Vancette-Ruschez, long may the anointed one reign, begin in proper.
