The Legend of Tarik al-Hassan
Summary
The legend goes that al-Hassan was near death, and wandering through the former Torrid Steppes after being outlawed by the Rosaven Dominion. Hassan was supposedly visited by the image of Tymora, the goddess of good fortune, who guided him towards the Oasis’ and led him to find the vast amount of minerals underneath the land. This led to Tarik founding the city of Tharwa and the renaming of the desert to the Alirtes Sands. Tarik spends all of his rule single-handingly developing his Kingdom into a self-sufficient state, which finally occurs in 1214, 5 years before his death, cementing his legacy.
