Divinity
Gods, divines, are beings that one way or another have ascended from their natural form and attained divinity. And that status comes with all the luxuries one expects, omnipotence, omniscience, immortality, etc. However, the fate of divine is not all pretty, for as they say:Since ancient times, beings from all realms have ascended to become divine and wield the power that comes with being a god.
God who has lost all its followers, fades and becomes part of The Faceless. Losing all individuality in the process.A god is only as strong as its followers.
Path to Divinity
As stated before, anyone being with sufficient intelligence and will can become divine. There are many paths to divinity, and most divines are unwilling to share their secret.Upon ascending to divinity, every divine chooses a realm to which they bind themselves, in which their true form dwells. In this realm that their power is at there strongest, but they are also at most vulnerable. For in their own realm a divine can be killed permanently.
Uplifting
One way to become divine is to have a powerful divine uplift you. Usually, this results in you becoming part of their pantheon. Being part of a pantheon is both a Blessing and a Curse to the Divine. The followers of that pantheon, also bequeath part of their worship to you. Make it much easier to maintain a following. However, you are also limited for you cannot surpass the head deity, trying so would get you ousted from the pantheon.Primaeval Deities
Primaeval Deities are the most noteworthy among all divines. For they were there at the beginning, and unlike any risen or uplifted deities. They don't even need worship to maintain power and a sense of self. For they embody concepts as old as time itself. And the very acknowledgement of these concepts by mortals counts as worship to them. Among these are:- The Mad God of Change
- Primus, God of Law and Order
- The Faceless, God of Death
- Sahsla, Goddess of Time
