Hidden Half-Breeds
Surakh, or "Screamer" in Al'Afean, are the product of Al'Kubra mating with Humans. In Al'Afea, they are often hidden from sight, treated as a walking display of promiscuity, and amongst Humans, they are too bestial to truly fit in. As a result, most Surakh are either pampered shut-ins, or wasteland drifters searching for self-realization. Rearing a Surakh is incredibly difficult on the bodies of Al'Kubra and Human mothers alike. Al'Kubran mothers often reject their offspring, driven to madness by the post-partum hunger associated with Al'Kubran delivery. Human mothers nearly always die in childbirth due to the sheer size of newborn Surakh, provided the stars are aligned and the pregnancy hasn't had complications prior to their birth.
