Illume is the embodiment of all that shines with purity in form, mind, and deed. She inspires creation, drives civilization forward, and demands that her followers live lives of brilliance, not mediocrity. Her presence is a light in the sky, guiding mortals toward a world shaped by justice, beauty, and vision.  

Symbol and Depiction

  Symbol: A white peacock with golden feather accents.
Depiction: Though her divine form is that of a dazzling white peacock, Illume is most often depicted as a graceful, ethereal woman with long white hair, robed in layers of feathered white silk laced with gold. Her great wings extend from her back like radiant fans, often shown in dance-like poses as though she paints the sky itself with her beauty. Statues and paintings emphasize grace, motion, and the divine allure of perfection.  

Beliefs and Values

  Illume’s followers believe she embodies everything good in the world. To serve her is to strive for greatness artistically, intellectually, and morally. They see themselves as vessels of divine justice, light, and progress, destined to lead others through example and brilliance. Creativity, vision, ambition, and mastery in one’s craft are sacred virtues. Her faithful often act as inventors, judges, architects, fashion designers, or philosophers all driven by the belief that they must help humanity reach its next golden age.   “To shine is to serve. To serve is to elevate.”  

Temples and Worship

  The city of Illumé is home to the grandest temple of Illume, and possibly the most lavish temple in the world. An entire district is devoted to divine worship, with Illume’s temple constructed from the rarest marble and metals, adorned with the greatest works of art ever made in her honor. The temple’s Archbishop most often a woman, though not exclusively, is chosen for both divine understanding and physical presentation. Their garments are masterpieces, crafted by the realm’s most gifted designers, reflecting Illume’s ideal of external and internal beauty combined.   Every year, the Festival of Feathery Radiance is held in Illumé. Citizens don flowing white robes and celebrate with parades, performances, and acts of charity, honoring their radiant goddess and striving to reflect even a fraction of her brilliance.  

Legends and Tales

  It is widely believed that Illume was the key to victory during the God Wars. Her mastery of strategy and overwhelming divine light secured the triumph of the Aezezias. Many followers believe this proves she is not only the most powerful of all gods, but the most beloved by mortals.  

Mysteries

  Strangely, for all her worship and the magnificence of her temples, Illume’s presence is the least tangible among the Aezezias. While her followers believe they honor her well, some quietly fear that they have not yet pleased her. There is a whisper among scholars and prophets alike: What if Illume's silence is disappointment? And what if one day, her light turns away from the world entirely?
