Dogon
The Whispering Serpent
Domains and Aspects
Dogon is the shadow behind the veil, the voice in the dark that tempts, twists, and whispers truths that fracture the mind. Though one of the Creator gods, little is known about his nature or intentions. Unlike Selqwok, who seeks balance, Dogon embodies the untamed spirit, unbound by morality or law.
Symbol and Depiction
Symbol: A coiled black cobra with its tongue extended, a symbol of persuasion, poison, and subtle danger. Depiction: Dogon is often shown as a massive black cobra, his scales glistening like oil under moonlight. A third glowing eye rests on his forehead, and his aura flickers with deep violet light. In every depiction, his gaze is piercing, as if he knows something about the viewer they do not.Beliefs and Values
Little is truly known of Dogon's doctrine. His followers are rumored to embrace manipulation, secrecy, and temptation as tools for influence and power. They are rarely seen openly and are thought to blend into society, shaping it from behind the scenes. The most publicly associated worshippers of Dogon are the Yuan-ti, serpentine people believed to revere him deeply. They inhabit the Ciro Desert, a place so hostile that few Aezezias worshippers dare venture there. “The loudest gods shout commands. The wisest only whisper.”Temples and Worship
No known temples to Dogon exist on public record. However, scholars suspect that the Yuan-ti may have built sacred places in the hidden folds of the Ciro Desert, if such construction is even possible under its volatile conditions. Yuan-ti practices are already known to include blood rituals and sacrifices to demonic forces. Some suspect that similar rites may be offered to Dogon, though whether he receives them, none can say.Legends and Tales
There are those who believe that Dogon instigated the God Wars, not through action, but through influence. While he did not fight, some find his silence deeply suspicious. Could the wars have been part of a larger game? A whisper in the right ears at the right time? What better way to shift the world than by turning gods against each other?Mysteries
Dogon is the only Zaligon god who was never imprisoned after the God Wars, and it is unclear why. Selqwok abstained in peaceful clarity, but Dogon, a god of chaos, defies such logic. Some say the gods did not imprison him because they could not find him. Others whisper that Dogon has hidden even from divinity, and still schemes in the unseen corners of the world.
